Billy Gene Phillips

Billy Gene Phillips, age 68 of Dayton died Sunday, June 07, 2009 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Billy was born in Rhea County on February 25, 1941 the son of the late John Phillips and Hazel (Arp) Phillips Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Ricky and Max Phillips and two sisters, Baby Phillips and Mamie Phillips.
Billy lived all of his life in Rhea County where he was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church. For over 25 years he was employed with the Oster Corporation and most recently with Card Monroe in Hixson.
He is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Wanda (Ewton) Phillips, two daughters, Mary Ann Clingan and Kim Phillips all of Dayton, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, his brother, Edward Phillips of NY, sister, Linda Roberts of Decatur and two sister-in-laws, Louise Harris and Sue Tate both of Dayton.
Funeral services for Billy will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Hank Human and Rev. Jim Purser officiating. Burial will follow in the Dayton City Cemetery.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Monday afternoon fro 3:00pm until 5:00pm.
