Bill Knox, age 72 of Graysville died Sunday December 7, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. He was born September 27, 1942 in Soddy to the late James W. and Magdalene (Carden) Knox Maynor.
A resident of Graysville since 1979, he retired from La-Z-Boy after 25 years. He enjoyed building furniture and loved his hot rod cars. He attended the Cove Chapel Church of God.
He is survived by his five sons, Robert McDougal and Wesley McDougal both of Dayton, Ronnie Rainwater of Michigan, James Burton and John Stokes, both of Graysville, seven daughters, Debbie Donley and Cathy Burt, both of Minnesota, Holly Knox and Lisa Rainwater, both of Michigan, Sharlene Chase of Chattanooga, Samantha Forehand of Rhea County and Daphne McDougal of Arkansas, four brothers Tony Knox and Mike Knox, both of Graysville, Oscar Maynor of Spring City and David Maynor of Dayton, four sisters, Loretta Tucker of Dayton, Brenda Knox and Mary Ann Messimer, both of Graysville and Sarah Lynn Long of NC, his companion Grace Wilson of Graysville and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest next to his father at Pleasantview Cemetery in Graysville.
