Bill Dean Hill, age 87 of Spring City, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. He was born on August 6, 1935 in Winside, NE, the son of the late Julius and Gertrude Mae (Culgan) Hill. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Alice (Post) Hill; his daughter, Azelia Vail; his granddaughter, Wendy Burns; and his three siblings, Evelyn Wood, Ann Ballard and Ed Hill.
Bill worked at Western Union delivering telegrams on a bike for three years, he drove a mail truck for 15 years, worked as an orderly, as well as in a lumber yard and ran a dairy farm. His hobbies included collecting Hot Wheels, making wooden toys to sell and give out to children. His biggest joy was making other happy. He was also a member of Seventh-Day Adventist in Spring City.
Bill is survived by his two sons, Willis Hill and Julius Hill, both of Graysville; his daughter, Lecia (Richard) Oxentenko of Spring City; his six grandchildren; Adora Burns and Robert Burns, Jr., both of Boerne, TX, Bertie (Kyle) Meyer of Nebraska, Allee (Brandon) Fleck of St. Marys, GA, Alectra Vail and Savanna Vail, both of Chattanooga; and her four great-grandchildren, Logan Hill of Bourne, TX, Greyson Fleck and Stetson Fleck, both of St. Marys, GA, and Caspain Meyer of Nebraska.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Brayton Cemetery on Graysville Mountain.
