Betty Jean Colvin

Betty Jean Colvin, age 88 of Dayton, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Golden Years Retirement Home in Spring City. Betty was born in Spring City on April 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Walter Ball and Hazel (Crisp) Ball. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Colvin; her grandchildren, Melissa Reed and Douglas W. “George” Reed; and her siblings, Billy Ball, Doris June Chittwood, Dorothy Meeks and Elizabeth Ball.

Betty lived in Dayton since 1969. She retired from Robinson Manufacturing and was a seamstress most of her life. She loved to travel, especially to see family and friends with her lifelong friend, Mabel Creasman. She was a member of United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Douglas (Lisa) Reed of Trion, GA; and her two grandchildren, Pamela (Mike) Satterlee and Amy Reed; her great-grandchildren, Katie, Heather and Sarah Satterlee, all of Waleska, GA, Colton Reed of Dayton and Nathaniel Jones of Waleska, GA.

Visitation services for Betty will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 1:00pm-3:00pm in the parlor. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Raymond, at Rhea Memory Gardens.
