Bessie Ovella Hyche age 97 of Sale Creek passed away Friday afternoon, January 25, 2019 at her home. She was born in Dayton on February 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Walter and Glenna (Bishop) Holmes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hyche, her son James Carl Roberts, Jr., and two great-granddaughters, Brandy Harvey and Cassie Jones.

Ovella lived all her life in the Dayton and Sale Creek communities. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener of both vegetables and flowers. Ovella was a member of the Sale Creek Church of God and was there at every opportunity.

She is survived by her three sons, Raymond (Barbara) Roberts of Soddy Daisy, Thomas Roberts of Sale Creek, Charles Roberts of Soddy Daisy, five daughters, Marie Harvey of Sale Creek, Lois Bock of Sale Creek, Helen (Kenneth) Hodge of Dayton, Doris (Jim) Smith of Dayton and Rebecca (Frank) Stillwell of Dayton. She is also survived by her 29 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 37 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great granddaughter along with special friends, Edith Presley of Graysville and Thelma Young of Bakewell.

Funeral services for Ovella will be held Monday afternoon at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Leroy Smith, Rev. Terry Bolton and Rev. Danny Roberts officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Pleasantview Cemetery in Graysville.
