Rosa Alberta “Bertie” McSpadden, age 88, of Dayton died Friday June 8, 2018 at Deer Ridge. She was born January 31, 1930 in Dayton to the late Mamie Carolyn Dotson Fraley and Arvil Lee Fraley. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 26 years Bernard Potter; her siblings Virginia Sue “Bobbie” Garrison, Nola Bishop, Charles “Bug” Fraley and Arvil “Buck” Fraley Jr.
Alberta had been a resident of Deer Ridge for the past 2 ½ years; prior to that she lived just across the road for 35 ½ years with her beloved husband. She was employed at Robinson’s Manufacturing 46 years until she retired at 62. Bertie enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading, and time with family.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years William “Bill” McSpadden of Dayton; her daughter Kathy Potter of Dayton; her son Thomas Gary Potter of Knoxville; her grand daughter Angela (Matt) Barrow of Decatur, AL; her two brothers R.C. Fraley of Soddy Daisy and Malcolm Fraley of Dayton; her two sisters Aline Pritchett and Louise Cornett both of Dayton.
Funeral services for Bertie will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton.
