Arbutus (Morgan) Schrimpsher, age 67 of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Rhea Medical Center. She was born in Rhea County on June 29, 1949 to the late Manker and Elizabeth (Pruitt) Morgan. She is also preceded in death by her infant sister, Brenda Sue Morgan, and her daughter, Amanda Schrimpsher.

Arbutus lived in Dayton all her life, and enjoyed raising her family and caring for them. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Arbutus was of the Baptist faith.

Arbutus is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bill Schrimpsher of Dayton, in addition to her two daughters, Monica (Dwayne) Robinson of Dayton and Erica Schrimpsher of Georgetown. She is also survived by her son, David (Shirley) Schrimpsher of Dayton; in addition to her grandchildren, Collin Robinson, Ethan Robinson, Graci Moreno, Val Moreno, and Elena Moreno. Arbutus is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Lucille Clark of South Carolina, Randall Morgan of Dayton, Willard Morgan of Pikeville, Ira Morgan of Dayton, Dottie (Jerry) Roberts of Evensville, Faye (Olan) Ludwick of Battle Creek, MI, Doyle (Pattie) Morgan of North Carolina, and Woody (Viola) Morgan of Pikeville, TN.

A funeral service for Arbutus will be held Wednesday at 2:00pm at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Curtis Sayre officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens next to her daughter.
