Glenn Allen Smith, age 58, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Dayton. He was born July 7, 1953 in Chattanooga, TN.
A resident of Dayton all his life, he was a graduate of Rhea Central High School. He had been employed at Dupont and currently owned and operated S & S Sportswear, Malco Modes and Sam’s Mfg., all in Dayton. He was a member of the Scenic City Football League, served as president of Dizzy Dean Baseball for two terms and as president of Little Eagle Football for two terms. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dayton.
He is survived by his wife Kim (May) Smith of Dayton, son Jason (Kimmie) Smith of Dayton, daughter Sabrina Reed of Murfreesboro, son Josh Smith and daughter Whitney Smith, both at home, two granddaughters, Brooklyn Reed and Miranda Smith, both of Dayton, father and mother Glenn and Mary Ruth (Johnson) Smith of Dayton, brothers Ronnie Smith and Ray Smith both of Dayton and Mike Smith of Spring City. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Frances May Foust of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Ty Reed and father-in-law Buddy May.
Funeral services for Allen will be Saturday at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Dayton with Rev. Milton Knox officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens, followed by a white dove release.
