Albert Lester Martin, age 85 of Sale Creek, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga. He was born in Sale Creek, on April 14, 1938, the son of the late Samuel Nathaniel Martin and Reva Effie (Edens) Martin.
Albert lived in Sale Creek all of his life, he served his country in the United States Navy aboard the SS Rook 804 in the Bay of Pigs. He was owner/operator of Al’s Wrecker Service, and also worked as a diesel mechanic. He volunteered for the Sale Creek Fire Department for 30 years. He loved archery, bowling, NASCAR, fishing and softball. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
He is survived by his five children, Valerie (Paul) Fuchcar of Chattanooga, James (Kathy) Martin of Dayton Mountain, Tony (Lori Cyr) Martin of New Bedford, MA, Vickie (John Mota) Cadime of Westport, MA, and Debra (Sean) Peacock of California; his nine grandchildren, Crystal, Nathan, Samantha, Murphy, Alexandria, Ruby, Samuel, Kendall and Katrina; and his four great-grandchildren, Katrina, Bennett, John and Peter.
Funeral services with military honors for Albert will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Archie Poole officiating. He will be laid to rest in Welsh Rogers Cemetery.
