Al Ray Davis, age 83, of Dallas, GA and formerly of Sale Creek died Tuesday morning, April 22, 2014 at his home in Dallas, GA. He was born on December 24, 1930 in Dayton to the late Raymond Erwin and Margaret Delilah (Reed) Davis. He was also preceded in death by his wife Frances Wilene (Iles) Davis.
Al Ray was a long time resident of Sale Creek and Marietta, GA. Al Ray served his country as a radio/radar technician on the P2V Neptune AJ1 Savage aircraft with the US Navy. He retired in 1987 after 35 years as an electronics technician for Lockheed-Martin and was a member of the Cornerstone Church of God in Dayton.
He is survived by his three sons, Thomas (Jennifer) Davis of Ellenwood, GA, James (Terri) Davis of Kennesaw, GA, and Danny (Angie) Davis of Dallas, GA, one step-son Darrell McMillon of Dayton, one step-daughter Edwina Brown of Dallas, GA, four sisters, Nita Jean Fox of Hixson, Clairice Ryon of Grand Blanc, MI, Martha Kay ((Bobby) Thomas of North Jackson, OH and Billie Joyce Francisco of Sale Creek, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-granddaughter along with his special friend Pat Kaylor of Dayton.
Funeral services for Al Ray will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with his pastor, Rev. Donnie Cox officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Welsh-Rogers Cemetery in Sale Creek with military honors followed by a white dove release.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
