Thelma Novella Smith, age 91, of Evensville, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Spring City Life Care Center. A lifelong resident of Rhea County, she was born November 22, 1920 to the late John and Martha (Turner) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband Samuel Carroll Smith, two sons, Larry Smith and Billy Ray Smith and grandson Jonathan Potter.
She worked for Rhea Medical Center for twelve years and she loved to quilt. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son J.C. (Dot) Smith of Evensville, three daughters, Janie (Dean) Pritchett of Atlanta, Mary (Charles) Kelly of Rockwood and Sue (Tony) Potter of Dayton, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Thelma will be Sunday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Bogue and Rev. Billy Joe Vitatoe officiating. Burial, followed by a white dove release will be in the Add Smith Cemetery.
