Oma “Polly” Bolton, age 85, of Dayton, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in Rhea Medical Center. She was born January 24, 1927 in Bledsoe County to the late Jesse Lee Bolton and Laura Collier Bolton.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Opal Coleman, and nephews Allen Patterson and Mike W. Montgomery and step-father Frank Tennyson.
Polly was involved in Progress for People, Headstart and was a member of Rhea Richland Senior Neighbors. She was of the Church of God faith. She loved to watch Braves baseball. She was retired from Dupont and had worked for many years as a waitress for Watts Bar Resort and a cook for Headstart.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Helen (Doyle) Montgomery of Dayton, nieces and nephews Teresa (Danny) Dunn, Jim (Pam) Montgomery, Pattie Montgomery all of Dayton and Roy (Sabrina) Montgomery of Kingston, three great-nieces Crystal Knight, Laura Arnold and Brittany Ballard, four great-nephews Mike L. Montgomery, Ryan Montgomery, Jesse Patterson and Chris Grant, two great-great nephews and one great-great niece.
Funeral services for Polly will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald and Rev. Bob Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens.
