Margie Marie Hamby, age 90, of Pikeville, KY, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Pikeville, KY. She was born October 31, 1921 in Harlan, KY to the late Archie and Rachel Lola-Belle (Nunn) Buchannon. She was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Hamby, three sons, Robert Howard Hamby, Bobby Joe Hamby and Ronald Hamby and two brothers Clifford Buchannon and Fred Buchannon.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
She is survived by her five sons, Jerry Hamby of Wheelwright, KY, Charles (Rucilla) Hamby of Melvin, KY, Donald ( Elowise) Hamby of Dayton, TN, Johnny Ray Hamby of Whitesburg, KY and David (Dawn) Hamby of Spring City, TN, three daughters, Judy (John) Oliver of Carlisle, OH, Betty (John) Harris of Pikeville, KY and Karen (Mike) Pollard of Evensville, TN, one brother Tommy Buchannon of Corbin, KY, four sisters, Rosella Horner of Wallbridge, OH, Hazel Saylor of Kenvir, KY, Helen Little of Prestonburg, KY and Katherine Brooks of Gary, IN, twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Margie will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mike Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens.
