Ernest Erwin Raven, age 72 of Spring City, died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at his home. He was born June 22, 1939 in Unity, ME to the late Burliegh and Blossom (Monroe) Raven.
A resident of Spring City for the past 12 years, he had previously lived in Cottageville, SC and Calais, ME. He was a carpenter and tile setter and was a member of the Graysville Church of God. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years. Lillian (Prince) Raven, three sons, Ernest (Sharon) Raven, Jr., Allan (Maggie) Raven and Paul (Lisa) Raven, all of Dayton, daughter Susie (Tony) Hixson of Decatur, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two brothers, Dennis (Lucille) Raven of NM and Frank (Melissa) Monroe of ME.
He will be laid to rest Monday, January 2, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
