Barbara Jean Gentry

August 27, 1940 - March 5, 2022

Barbara Jean Gentry, age 81 of Sale Creek, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Hospice of Chattanooga. She was born in Chattanooga on August 27, 1940, the daughter of the late John Howard and Cornelius (May) Howard. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Joe Howard, Morgan Howard, and JC Howard and her sister, Lucille Howard. Barbara lived in Sale Creek all her life and was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High School. She was employed at DuPont, she owned and operated several convenience stores in Sale Creek, and she was a member of the Soddy Daisy Church of God. She is survived by her daughter, Paula (John) Gardner of Sale Creek; her son, Steve (Deborah) Gentry of Graysville; her three grandchildren; and her brother, Connie Mack (Carolyn) Howard of Soddy Daisy. A family committal service for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Welch Rogers Cemetery in Sale Creek.
