Our own Donna Vanderwall went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning, April 27, 2008 at the age of 85. She was surrounded by loving family at her home.
Donna was born on March 13, 1923 in Muskegon, MI where she was raised and became a graduate of the North Muskegon High School Class of 1941. She was the daughter of the late John and Dora (Koning) DeGroot. Donna remained in Muskegon until moving to northern Michigan in 1974 and then in 1987 she moved to Dayton, Tennessee.
Donna was a charter member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church in North Muskegon and was currently a member of Grace Bible Church in Dayton. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and working in her yard with her husband.
Donna’s compassion made her a wonderful asset to the funeral home where she assisted her son, first in Northern Michigan then in Dayton.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Elmer Vanderwall of Dayton, her two sons, David (Sandi) Vanderwall of The Villages, FL and Tom (Jan) Vanderwall of Dayton, her sister, Barbara (Irving) Hansen of North Muskegon, MI, six grandchildren, Adam (Erin) Vanderwall of New York City, NY, Aaron Vanderwall of Cookeville, TN, Alex (Lisa) Vanderwall of Dayton, Kaley Vanderwall of Cleveland, TN, Andy Vanderwall of Dayton, TN, Stacey (Layton) Herbert of Reeves, LA and four great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her infant twin brother Jack and her sister, Helen DeGroot.
She will be dearly missed, loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Dear Friend. Please visit Donna’s guest book and share a memory.
